The Office of the President stated on March 14 that regarding North Korea's ballistic missile launch, "We strongly urge North Korea to immediately halt this provocative act, which is a violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions."
The National Security Office at the Presidential Office announced that, in response to North Korea firing more than 10 ballistic missiles into the East Sea from near Pyongyang on this day, an 'Emergency Security Situation Review Meeting' was convened with the participation of relevant agencies, including the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The above position was delivered during the meeting.
The National Security Office explained, "We reviewed the impact of this launch on our national security and checked the necessary measures," adding, "Given that we are currently in the period of the South Korea-U.S. joint exercises, relevant agencies were instructed to thoroughly maintain their readiness posture."
The National Security Office further added, "We reported the current launch situation and the related measures to the President."

This ballistic missile launch by North Korea is the first in 47 days since the launch into the East Sea on January 27, and it is the third such incident this year.
