VIRNECT Selected as Final Defense Track Startup for "2026 Super Gap Startup 1000+"
Digitizing Defense Field Expertise with AI
Accelerating Global Market Expansion
VIRNECT, an AI company specializing in industrial applications, has been selected as a defense track startup for the “2026 Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project,” organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Startup Promotion Agency.
The company’s startup item is a “no-code XR content creation and management platform for maintenance support and training powered by AI technology.” The platform aims to digitize the tacit knowledge of defense industry field experts using AI, thereby improving efficiency in maintenance and training.
The core of the VIRNECT platform is its "Vibe Coding" method, which converts field experts’ tacit knowledge into digital assets. An AI engine based on Model Context Protocol (MCP) receives PDF manuals or 2D drawings as input, automatically extracts work steps through natural language processing (NLP), and uses computer vision to recognize parts and perform 3D matching.
Based on this, field experts can create XR-based maintenance and training content simply through drag-and-drop, without any coding. The content can be used immediately on various devices including PC, mobile, and smart glasses. Compared to the conventional outsourcing approach, production costs have been reduced by 94%, and content creation time is 12 times faster than competing solutions.
VIRNECT has established an on-premise AI operation model to meet the requirements of defense and confidential environments. The platform fully supports external network isolation and has obtained GS Grade 1 certification, proving its suitability for public and defense procurement. During the term of this business agreement, the company plans to further advance its maintenance support and training features and target North America and Europe as its top priorities for global market expansion.
In particular, VIRNECT intends to enhance its Vibe Coding method, which allows content to be automatically generated using only natural language input. As skilled field workers can create maintenance and training content themselves without dedicated developers, the digitization of tacit knowledge is expected to accelerate significantly.
A representative from VIRNECT stated, “This selection recognizes the value of our platform, which systematically digitizes advanced skills in the defense field using AI. We will actively accelerate our expansion into the global market, leveraging our domestic defense industry references.”
