Russia Attacks Ukrainian Rear and Southern Fronts... Ceasefire Talks Effectively Suspended
Overnight, Russia launched concentrated attacks on urban areas in the Ukrainian rear and along the southern front.
According to foreign media, including AFP, on the night of the 6th (local time), a Russian attack in the Kharkiv region caused an apartment building to collapse, resulting in the deaths of seven civilians. Local rescue authorities are currently conducting operations, as many individuals are believed to be trapped under the debris.
In the Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions, one civilian was killed in each area. Other regions, including Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Dnipro, and Odesa, also suffered damage overnight due to Russian attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, "Russia launched 29 missiles and 480 drones last night." The Russian side claimed to have carried out a large-scale attack targeting military industrial facilities and airfields, and asserted that up to 200 Ukrainian troops were lost on the southern front.

Meanwhile, the Russia-Ukraine tripartite ceasefire negotiations, which had been mediated by the United States, have become uncertain due to the outbreak of armed conflict between the United States and Israel on one side, and Iran on the other. So far, three rounds of talks have taken place, but no decisions have been reached due to territorial disputes and other contentious issues. With the United States now unlikely to play a mediating role, the negotiations are effectively suspended.
