Traditional Culture Education Institute to Train 115 National Heritage Restoration Specialists
Entrance Ceremony for Training Course to Be Held on March 6 in Main Auditorium
Field Placement After 10 Months of Skills Training
The Traditional Culture Education Institute at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage will hold the entrance ceremony for the 2026 "National Heritage Restoration Technician Training Course" at 2 p.m. on March 6 in the university's main auditorium. A total of 115 new national heritage restoration specialists will be trained to carry on traditional skills.
This year's trainees have been selected across nineteen fields, including both basic and advanced courses in fine arts, crafts, and architecture. Over the next ten months, they will undergo a structured skills training process. Upon completing all courses in December, they will work at national heritage restoration sites and workshops across the country.
This training program was first launched in 2012. Starting with thirty-seven participants in its inaugural year, it has produced a total of 1,438 graduates to date. Among them, 477 have obtained the national heritage restoration technician certificate, and 923 are actively working in their fields at restoration sites and workshops.

An official from the Traditional Culture Education Institute stated, "We will further strengthen the program by establishing a standard model for traditional skills education."
