According to Iranian state television, government authorities announced, “We have postponed the ceremony to ensure safety and order, as an unprecedentedly large crowd is expected to gather for the funeral.” They added, “The new funeral schedule will be announced later.”
Initially, Iran had planned to hold a state funeral for Khamenei over three days, starting at 10:00 p.m. on this day (3:30 a.m. on March 5, Korean time). However, due to the expected massive turnout of mourners, the schedule has inevitably been adjusted.
