Gyeongju National Museum Unveils Immersive Video of the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok

The Gyeongju National Museum announced on March 4 that it has produced and will release a digital immersive video centered on the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok.
This video, screened at the Digital Video Hall on the first floor of the Silla Art Gallery, uses projection mapping technology and 9.1 channel surround sound to vividly recreate the majestic resonance and form of the bell.
The content is also rich and comprehensive. It highlights the sound, patterns, and inscriptions of the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok, allowing visitors to gain an in-depth understanding of Silla’s advanced science and technology, artistic sensibility, and the historical context in which the bell was made.
A museum official explained, “We aimed to convey the manufacturing process—including engraving patterns onto the mold and pouring molten metal—in a sensory way. We also meticulously recreated the ‘Yongnyu,’ the dragon-shaped finial at the top of the bell, which is difficult to see with the naked eye due to its height of 3.6 meters.”
