"Quentin Tarantino Dead in Iranian Missile Attack?"... Proven to Be AI-Generated Fake News
Quentin Tarantino, Death Rumors Amid U.S.-Iran Conflict
"Quentin and All His Family Members Are Safe"
Recent rumors circulating online about the death of Hollywood film director Quentin Tarantino have been confirmed to be false.
On March 2 (local time), U.S. entertainment media outlet TMZ reported, "The rumors that director Tarantino was killed in a missile attack in Israel are completely untrue," adding, "All of his family members have also been confirmed to be safe."
A close associate of Tarantino also told TMZ, "Quentin is alive and well, and all of his family members are safe." This statement was issued in response to claims spreading on X (formerly Twitter) that Tarantino had died in an Iranian missile attack.
After armed conflict broke out between the United States and Israel and Iran on February 28, claims that director Tarantino had died in an Iranian missile attack quickly spread, particularly on social networking services (SNS).
Some posts included photos claiming to show him taking shelter in an air-raid bunker in Israel, but these images were confirmed to be fake and generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Despite being fabricated, the false posts quickly went viral, receiving thousands of 'likes'.
Tarantino is married to Israeli actress and model Daniella Pick, and they have two children. He is known to divide his time between his hometown of Los Angeles in the United States and Israel. In past interviews, Tarantino has expressed that he enjoys living in Israel despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
