The Blue House announced that, in connection with the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei following airstrikes by the United States and Israel, it is "closely monitoring the situation and taking a range of measures to ensure the safety of Korean nationals overseas."

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media on February 28 (local time) that "Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, has died."
