Boseong County to Host "Boseong Green Tea Marathon" on Metasequoia-Lined Course
Registration Open for the "Boseong Green Tea Marathon"
To Be Held on May 2 at the Public Stadium in Boseong Sports Park
Boseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that the 21st Boseong Green Tea Marathon will be held on May 2, 2026, at the public stadium in Boseong Sports Park.
Those wishing to participate can apply through the official Boseong Green Tea Marathon website until March 30, 2026.
This year’s event is hosted by the Boseong County Sports Council and co-organized by the Boseong County Marathon Association and the Korea Marathon Association.
The Boseong Green Tea Marathon, which features Full, Half, 10km, and 5km races in that order, is on an official course certified by the Korea Association of Athletics Federations. It is widely regarded by marathoners as one of the best courses, thanks to its Metasequoia-lined road and gentle slopes.
Participants will receive a T-shirt as a souvenir, and prizes will include running shoes and local specialties from Boseong such as Boseong Matcha.
In addition, on the day of the event, participants who visit the Yulpo Green Tea Seawater Spa Center operated by Boseong County and present their bib number will be able to use the facilities at a discounted price of 5,000 won per person.
Furthermore, last year more than 8,000 club runners took part, along with legendary marathoner Lee Bongju and the cast of MBN’s "Run For Your Life" including Sean, Lee Youngpyo, Yang Sehyung, Bae Sungjae, and Hur Jae. Actor Song Ilguk and his three sons Daehan, Minguk, and Manse also ran together, adding even more excitement to the event.

An official from the county said, "Last year, a record number of club runners took part in the Boseong Green Tea Marathon, further enhancing the event’s reputation," adding, "We will thoroughly prepare traffic and safety management measures so that this year’s event can once again be a great success."
