Samsung Electronics Adds AI Agent "Perplexity" to Galaxy S26
Samsung Electronics announced on the 22nd that it will additionally equip its upcoming Galaxy flagship device, which will be released on the 26th, with the AI agent "Perplexity."
Users can easily summon the AI agent by pressing the side button on the device or by using a voice command such as "Hey Plex." This allows them to perform tasks by voice without having to launch individual apps such as Samsung Notes, Gallery, or Reminder.
Samsung Electronics previously installed Google's AI model "Gemini" on its mobile devices. The additional integration of Perplexity is intended to offer a wider range of AI agent options at a time when demand for personalized AI experiences is increasing. According to an internal survey by Samsung Electronics, about 8 out of 10 AI users utilize two or more AI agents on their mobile devices.
