View original imageAt around 12:45 a.m. on the 15th, on the second lane in the direction of Aju at Yangjeong Tunnel in Yangjeong-dong, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, a sport utility vehicle (SUV) driven by a woman in her 30s, identified as A, rear-ended a compact car driven by a man in his 40s, identified as B, which was traveling ahead.
As a result of the crash, B's vehicle collided with the right tunnel wall and then overturned. Driver B was seriously injured and taken to a hospital but ultimately died.
According to the police, driver A was found to be heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident, with a blood alcohol concentration at a level warranting license revocation.
