A man in his 20s who tried to set his home on fire after fighting with his family has been booked by the police.
According to Yonhap News Agency on February 14, the Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul announced that it plans to soon refer a man in his 20s, identified only by his surname A, to the prosecution on charges of attempted arson of an occupied building.
A is suspected of attempting to start a fire at his home in Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, at around 2:00 a.m. on February 5 while drunk, after getting into a verbal argument with his maternal grandfather. Fortunately, the incident did not develop into an actual fire.
Determining that there was a risk he might commit the crime again, the police removed A from the home and issued a restraining order, taking what is known as an "emergency temporary measure."
