Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation to Promote AI Talent Development...Signs Agreement with 10 Organizations Including Siheung City
The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation has signed an agreement with 10 organizations to foster artificial intelligence (AI) and more.
The provincial Job Foundation announced on the 12th that on the 11th, at Siheung City Hall, it signed a "Business Agreement for AI Talent Development and Corporate Innovation" with 10 related organizations, including Siheung City, the Ansan Employment and Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea Polytechnic University, Gyeonggi University of Science and Technology, the Training Institute for Small and Medium Business, the Western Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, the Siheung Small Business Association, the Siheung Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Siheung Entrepreneurs Association, and the Siheung Materials, Parts and Equipment Managers Association.
This agreement was prepared so that each institution can share roles in response to the rapidly changing technological environment and systematically foster practical AI talent, thereby supporting local companies in their digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation (AX).

View original imageUnder the agreement, the provincial Job Foundation will serve as a bridge connecting AI talent development with industrial demand. The main tasks include: supporting employment and settlement through nurturing young engineers; providing AI and digital job re-employment training for middle-aged workers and women with career breaks; and promoting excellent AI companies and supporting their recruitment by utilizing the Gyeonggi Job Portal "Jobaba."
Previously, since last year, the provincial Job Foundation and Siheung City have been jointly planning and promoting the "Young Engineer Development Project," exploring a sustainable manpower supply model for local industrial complexes. With this agreement as a turning point, they plan to expand the scope of the project and further advance a virtuous employment cycle system that supports young people's local settlement and employment linkage.

Yoon Deokryong, CEO of the provincial Job Foundation, said, "The success or failure of restoring the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry, that is, the 'manufacturing renaissance,' ultimately depends on securing practical AI talent with strong on-site capabilities," adding, "We will firmly establish a life cycle-based AI vocational training system covering youth, middle-aged workers, and women with career breaks, and actively support manufacturing companies in Siheung so that they can grow into AI innovation companies with global competitiveness."
