Rimpideu, Armed with FDA Registration, Takes Aim at U.S. Pet Food Market
Completion of FFR Registration for Freeze-Drying Facility
Production Capacity to Double Within First Half of This Year
Bio pet food startup Rimpideu announced on the 11th that it will launch its own brand in the United States this month and begin a full-scale push into the U.S. market.
Rimpideu completed Food Facility Registration (FFR) for its own freeze-drying manufacturing facility with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in November last year. This has enabled the company to export freeze-dried pet food produced in Korea directly to the United States.
FDA FFR is a mandatory registration system for overseas food manufacturing facilities that wish to export food products to the United States. In particular, pet food is subject to strict safety regulations in the U.S. market, and registration is only possible if the hygiene management and quality systems of the manufacturing facility meet FDA standards.

The company has secured an additional plant near its existing facility and is in the process of expanding its production lines, with plans to double its production capacity (CAPA) compared to the current level within the first half of this year. Through this, Rimpideu aims to establish a system that can stably produce both its domestic brand “Trusty Food” and export products at the same time, and to make this infrastructure a core competitive advantage for targeting global markets going forward.
The U.S. pet food market is the largest in the world, with an annual size of 54 billion dollars (approximately 75 trillion won). Led by premium alternative feeds such as freeze-dried pet food, it is growing at an average annual rate of 5% to 9%. Freeze-dried pet food is known to be popular among U.S. consumers because it allows for long-term storage while minimizing nutrient loss.
