Naver: "AI Briefing Coverage to Double This Year... 'AI Tab' to Launch in First Half"
"Improving Infrastructure Cost Efficiency for AI Expansion"
Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon said during an earnings conference call on February 6 that the company will expand the coverage of its AI Briefing service and organically connect it with various services through an 'AI Tab'.
CEO Choi said, "Our goal is to double the current coverage of AI Briefing by the end of this year," adding, "We will focus on expanding within informational domains, while also broadening the scope to shopping and local services, where Naver has a distinctive competitive edge." She went on to say, "We will further advance personalized experiences to provide optimized, tailored results to each individual user."
The company also plans to connect the AI Tab, which will be launched in the first half of this year, with Naver's various services. CEO Choi explained, "In that it organizes and provides answers in a clear and concise way, the AI Tab is aligned with AI Briefing," but emphasized, "The key is that it is organically connected with Naver's diverse services such as Shopping, Place, and Map."
She continued, "As a conversational AI search feature, the AI Tab is completely different from the existing list-based search," adding, "Within Naver's vast ecosystem, when users ask a question, the AI will guide them along the optimal path and serve as an 'integrated AI agent' that even supports purchases and reservations."

Naver is also working on improving infrastructure cost efficiency associated with the expansion of AI search. CEO Choi said, "We have unified the graphics processing units (GPUs), which used to be managed by each individual service, into an integrated operations platform," and added, "By shifting to lightweight models specialized for AI search services, we have also built the capacity to handle the same workloads in a more cost-efficient manner. By expanding our application from AI Briefing to AI Tab, we will continue to establish a sustainable operational foundation for AI services."
