The shared exhibition project "Rediscovery of Space" is a co-organized exhibition initiative that explores new possibilities for utilizing museum spaces, focusing on comics and comics-convergence exhibitions. It aims to discover creative exhibition content based on comics and webtoons and to provide presentation opportunities for emerging and private exhibition organizers.
The museum will provide exhibition spaces such as the First Special Exhibition Hall and the lobby gallery free of charge, while external partners will take the lead in exhibition planning, production, and operation. Comic exhibitions will be given preference, and it is also possible to support convergence exhibitions that combine comics with fine art, design, media art, and other fields, as well as experimental exhibitions that fit the character of the museum.
In addition, the museum is recruiting partners to jointly operate paid, experience-based educational programs that utilize comic content. The target is programs that allow family visitors, including children and teenagers, to experience comics in a more familiar and multidimensional way.
The selected collaboration operators will be responsible for planning and running the educational programs, as well as recruiting participants, while the museum will provide educational space and the basic operating environment, and support promotional activities. The programs will run from April to December in the Creative Education Room on the second floor of the museum. Any institution or organization with the capability to plan creative educational content and with on-site operational experience may apply.
The application deadline is the 27th for the education sector and March 22 for the exhibition sector. Detailed information can be found on the websites of the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency and Hanguk Manhwa Bangmulgwan.
