Kolon Group Delivers 884 Dream Packs to Children from Low-Income Families
Preparing gift packages for children from low-income families
Containing school supplies, toys, snacks, and more
More than 5,000 employees participate each year on a cumulative basis
Kolon Group carried out the "Dream Pack Donation Angel Campaign," in which it directly prepared and delivered gift packages for children from low-income families.
The Kolon Volunteer Group announced on the 4th that it held a volunteer event to assemble Dream Packs at Kolon Tower in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, on February 4. A total of 40 employees, including Kolon Global CEO Kim Youngbeom, took part in the event.
The volunteer group personally packed 884 Dream Packs containing wireless earphones, school supplies, toys, and snacks, and delivered them to 30 "Hello Dream" community child centers. The Dream Pack Donation Angel Campaign is one of Kolon's flagship social contribution programs that has continued since 2012, and is characterized by voluntary participation of employees in every step of the process, from fundraising to production and delivery.
The campaign fund is created by matching the amount donated by employees, which is collected every payday through the in-house intranet page "Donation Angel Gate," with an equal amount from the company. Last year, Kolon added fun elements to the donation process to expand the scale of support, and used this to further diversify the contents of the Dream Packs.
This year's campaign carried additional meaning in that Kolon Global employees began their first official initiative after the merger with a social contribution activity. In December last year, Kolon Global completed its merger with MOD, a leisure and hotel specialist, and Kolon LSI, an asset management specialist, and is now working to make a leap forward as a "comprehensive developer" by combining construction capabilities with operational know-how.
Seo Changhee, head of the Kolon Volunteer Group, said, "We hope the Dream Packs will serve as a small stepping stone for children as they prepare for the new school term with excitement," adding, "We will continue to spread a culture of sharing as a partner that supports the healthy growth of future generations."
