Government to Bring in Overseas Buyers... Launching Green Industry 'Order Platform'
GGHK to Be Held on April 20–21 in Yeosu
Government to Support Export-Oriented One-on-One Consultations for Green Industry
Plan for Ministerial Meeting on Intergovernmental Environmental Project Cooperation
The government will host the country’s flagship export platform, “Global Green Hub Korea (GGHK),” in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, this coming April to connect overseas orders in the domestic green industry sector to Korean companies. By inviting overseas project owners to Korea and linking them directly with companies, the government aims to begin in earnest the shift in the green industry’s export structure from “exhibition-centered” to “project order-centered.”
According to the relevant ministries on the 4th, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment has decided to hold the GGHK event in Yeosu over two days on April 20–21 and is currently coordinating invitation schedules and other details with overseas clients for environmental and energy projects. The event is part of a key program following Korea’s selection as the Asian host of the “2026 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Climate Week.”
This event is significant in that the government will directly supplement and support the network barriers that domestic companies have found difficult to overcome alone, at a time when overseas environmental infrastructure markets are largely driven by public-sector tenders. Around 200 people, including overseas buyers and representatives of Korean companies, are expected to attend. A key feature is that the event will run export-oriented one-on-one practical consultations that can lead to actual bidding and business participation, rather than mere promotional exhibitions. On-site support will also be strengthened so that the outcomes of these consultations can translate into actual contracts or memorandums of understanding (MOUs).

The main targets will be overseas public projects across the green industry, including climate change response infrastructure, water treatment, waste and resource circulation, renewable energy, hydrogen, and energy efficiency. An official from the ministry said, “This event is being prepared in conjunction with the ‘Korea Green Transformation (K-GX) International Week’ so that the government can actively support export channels for companies in Korea’s green industry sector.”
There will also be sessions where overseas project owners directly present their projects. By sharing bidding procedures, project conditions, and future tender plans, the aim is to help Korean companies secure information in advance and prepare strategically. After the regular event concludes, the government is also planning to connect additional overseas buyers with high potential for awarding contracts through follow-up consultations and ongoing invitations. The idea is to provide continuous support so that the event does not end as a one-off occasion but leads to the realization of actual projects.

In addition, on the first day of the event, the 20th, the government is preparing a high-level intergovernmental environmental cooperation meeting. The cooperation meeting is planned as a ministerial-level session. It is known that the government is currently discussing specific cooperation agendas with countries that partner on overseas environmental projects. A government official explained, “Since global climate discussions and industrial cooperation events will take place in the same venue, this will maximize project-order opportunities for our green companies.”
