Dermatologist-Founded Dermatrix Secures Seed Investment from Bluepoint Partners
Dermatrix, a startup developing digital healthcare solutions for skin, announced on the 3rd that it has attracted seed investment from Bluepoint Partners, a deep-tech accelerator (AC). The specific investment amount and valuation were not disclosed.
Dermatrix is a startup founded last year by CEO Kim Kyunghoon, a former dermatologist at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. The company aims to build a platform that digitally connects precise skin artificial intelligence (AI) analysis, hospital data management, and patients' daily skincare.
Dermatrix has focused on developing data management and work automation solutions for dermatology clinics. This solution streamlines the entire process from capturing patients' clinical images to data management, clinical use, and sharing with patients. In particular, it automates data organization and labeling work that medical staff previously had to perform manually. The system has been operated for more than three years in the dermatology department at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and other institutions, proving its stability.
In the process, the company has advanced specialized core technologies such as AI classification of clinical skin images, AI standardization of facial photos, and AI for detecting skin lesions. Last year, it was recognized for its potential by winning the Excellence Award in the Preliminary Startup League at the “2025 Challenge! K-Startup” Grand Finale.
Dermatrix is currently preparing to expand beyond hospital solutions into a mobile service that allows patients to record and manage their skin condition in daily life. The company plans to organically connect data inside and outside hospitals to provide each patient with an optimized, precision treatment experience.
Kim Minseon, Principal Investment Manager at Bluepoint, who led the investment, said, “We focused on their deep understanding of clinical settings and the execution capability proven by adoption at Asan Medical Center in Seoul,” adding, “We highly value its potential to become essential infrastructure for hospitals amid tightening security regulations, and to grow into a global skin data platform in the future.”
