People Power Party Criticizes President Lee's 'Ruinous Real Estate' Remarks: "Threats Won't Stabilize Housing Prices"
"Swaying Public Opinion with Provocative Slogans"
The People Power Party has criticized President Lee Jaemyung for recently making a series of statements regarding the "normalization of the ruinous real estate market" and housing price stabilization, saying, "It is highly inappropriate for a president to sway public opinion with provocative slogans."
Choi Boyoon, Chief Spokesperson of the People Power Party, stated in a commentary on the 1st, "President Lee has hastily attributed the overheating of housing prices to illegal activities and has even used threatening language targeting homeowners," adding, "Instead of calmly explaining policy, he is stoking fear."
Chief Spokesperson Choi argued, "You cannot curb the overheating of housing prices by treating housing choices and asset building as targets of government crackdowns," and insisted, "A practical solution would be private sector-led redevelopment and reconstruction through deregulation."
He further pointed out, "The idea of blocking truly necessary solutions and instead holding out by gathering idle land is no different from telling people to be content with government-rationed real estate."
