"Providing Opportunities to Experience Advanced Sports Environments"
The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education announced on January 30 that it will conduct the "2026 Overseas Training Program for Outstanding Student Athletes in Summer Sports" for 38 top-performing student athletes. The program will take place from February 1 to 9, spanning 7 nights and 9 days, across the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria.
This training program was organized to provide student athletes who achieved excellent results at the 54th National Youth Sports Festival and the 105th National Sports Festival last year with the opportunity to experience world-class sports environments. The aim is to broaden their global perspective and strongly motivate them to grow into future national representatives.
The delegation will first make an official visit to the Z?be?lice Multi-Sports Complex in Prague, Czech Republic. Here, the students will have the chance to observe Europe’s advanced multi-purpose sports infrastructure, tour the training environments of local athletes, and gain inspiration for systematic self-management and training methods.
In Munich, Germany, the group will visit the FC Bayern Munich Museum, home to one of the world’s most prestigious football clubs, to experience the club’s history and traditions. They will also watch a Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim at Allianz Arena, witnessing firsthand the skills and passion of world-class athletes.
The training program goes beyond a simple sports tour, incorporating activities to cultivate the students’ cultural and humanistic knowledge. By exploring major cultural and natural heritage sites in the host countries, the students will directly experience European history and culture. Through this, the program aims to help them become well-rounded individuals who possess not only athletic skills but also a broad worldview and rich emotional intelligence.
