It is considered one of the world's most challenging races, where vehicles showcase their performance by ascending and descending Pike's Peak in the Rocky Mountains.
The course starts at an altitude of 2,862 meters and climbs to a finish line at 4,302 meters, covering a total uphill distance of 19.99 kilometers. With 156 sharp corners throughout the course, it requires not only high vehicle performance but also durability and stability to complete, making it a race of significant difficulty.
The Gaining Traction Program, introduced for the first time this year, aims to discover and nurture talented drivers. It targets Colorado-based drivers with five years or less of PPIHC experience. Through this program, Kumho Tire will select a total of four promising drivers and provide them with financial support, including product supply.
In particular, the selected drivers will be provided with Kumho Tire's ECSTA V730 tires and will have the opportunity to participate in various official events during the competition, such as Fan Fest autograph sessions. The ECSTA V730 is Kumho Tire's flagship high-performance tire, developed based on experience in various domestic and international motorsport competitions. Its ultra-high-performance compound and robust block design deliver outstanding grip and stable handling even under high-speed driving conditions.
Janghyuk Yoon, Executive Director of North America Marketing at Kumho Tire, stated, "Kumho Tire places great value on discovering and supporting the next generation of racing, and we consider our collaboration with the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb to be very meaningful." He added, "Our goal is not simply to find champions, but to identify true racing drivers with potential and strong motivation. By providing practical resources, including high-performance tires, to drivers at the early stages of their careers, we hope to make a meaningful difference in their growth."
Melissa Eickhoff, CEO of PPIHC, said, "Kumho Tire's commitment to supporting the next generation of Colorado drivers perfectly aligns with the values and history upheld by PPIHC. We are very pleased to partner with a company that respects the development of motorsport talent and the Colorado legacy that defines this event."
