Park Jae-eok, former Chief Prosecutor of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office (29th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute), who led major investigations into drug and violent crimes at the prosecution, is beginning his career as a lawyer.
According to the legal community on January 28, Park will open the "Park Jae-eok Law Office" on Teheran-ro and begin his legal practice starting next month.
Born in Goseong, South Gyeongsang Province, Park graduated from Daea High School in Jinju and Hanyang University, and passed the 39th bar exam in 1997. His first post was at the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office. He later served as Head of the Violent Crimes Division at the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Narcotics Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Head of the Violent Crimes Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Suwon High Prosecutors' Office, and Chief Prosecutor at the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office. In 2019, he served as spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice, and in 2023, he was appointed as Head of the Narcotics and Organized Crime Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
Park is highly regarded for his investigative skills and integrity, earning deep trust from junior prosecutors. He represented the prosecution's opposition by joining the "Statement of 18 Chief Prosecutors" in protest against the decision not to appeal the first-instance ruling in the Daejang-dong development case.
