Guided Tours on Silla Culture Including Hwangnam Daechong and Hwangnyongsa
First Session: "Korea's Largest Tomb, Hwangnam Daechong"
The Gyeongju National Museum announced on January 26 that it will operate the "Conversation with a Curator" program to broaden communication with visitors.
This guided program allows museum researchers and curators to meet visitors in person and share stories related to the museum’s collections and exhibitions. It will be held at 5 p.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. Topics will include Silla’s golden culture and Buddhist art, the special exhibition "Hwangnyongsa Wooden Pagoda Sarira Reliquaries" opening in June, and the reopening of the Children’s Museum scheduled for October, among others.
The first session, scheduled for January 28, will feature Director Yoon Sangdeok as the guide, meeting visitors under the theme "Hwangnam Daechong: Korea’s Largest Tomb."
On February 25, researcher Kim Yooni will present "Eleven Faces That Watch Over All Beings," and on March 25, researcher Lee Jieun will lead a session titled "A New Material: Forging Iron."
Participation is free of charge. Visitors can join by arriving at the entrance of the relevant exhibition hall at the program’s starting time, without prior reservation. To encourage repeat participation, the museum plans to offer a small commemorative gift to those who attend seven or more sessions.
