Dr. Kang Sungjoo of "Not Science" with 1.36 Million Subscribers to Deliver Distinguished Speaker Lecture at Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation
K-MEDI hub (Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation, Chairman Park Guseon) will host the "5th Distinguished Speaker Lecture" at 10 a.m. on January 29 in the International Conference Room at the foundation's office in Dong-gu, Daegu. For this event, Dr. Kang Sungjoo (also known as Hangseong), a science communicator, has been invited as the guest speaker.
This lecture aims to highlight the importance of science in enhancing communication and content competitiveness amid the evolving media landscape. The topic, "Why Should We Communicate Through Science? - Science Becomes a New Weapon for Content!", is expected to captivate the audience's interest.
Dr. Kang Sungjoo (also known as Hangseong) is an astronomer and science communicator, actively engaging with the public as a member of the science YouTube channel "Not Science," which has 1.36 million subscribers. Drawing on his extensive experience in making science accessible and entertaining, he plans to share compelling science stories during this lecture as well.
The Distinguished Speaker Lecture is open to everyone, not just K-MEDI hub employees. Registration can be completed on-site on the day of the event.
K-MEDI hub and Dr. Kang Sungjoo are known to share a close relationship. In October last year, a researcher from the New Drug Development Support Center appeared on the "Not Science" channel in a segment titled "From DNA Barcodes to the Birth of the FDA! The Hidden History of New Drug Development?!"-a collaboration that marked their ongoing partnership. Through consistent communication, K-MEDI hub and Dr. Kang Sungjoo continue to share insights on science, content, and practical experiences.
Chairman Park Guseon of K-MEDI hub stated, "We have created an opportunity for the hub of advanced medical industry innovation and a science communicator to come together around the theme of science. I hope many people will participate, as this is a chance to learn about science in an easy and engaging way, breaking down the barriers of difficulty."
