SC First Bank Expands Mobile Foreign Exchange Trading to 24/7, 365 Days
No Daily Transaction Limit
Trade 10 Major Currencies Including the Dollar Within Transfer Limits
On January 20, SC First Bank announced the launch of its "24/7 Real-Time Foreign Exchange Trading Service," which allows users to conduct foreign exchange transactions in major currencies such as the US dollar anytime and anywhere through its mobile banking application (app).
This new service leverages the global network of its parent company, Standard Chartered (SC) Group, expanding foreign exchange trading hours from traditional bank business hours to a year-round, 24-hour service (excluding maintenance periods). Customers can now trade in real time in the top 10 major currencies, including the US dollar, euro, and Japanese yen, at any time-365 days a year-including weekends and public holidays.
Notably, there is no separate daily limit for foreign exchange transactions, so resident Korean nationals can freely trade within their individual mobile banking transfer limits.
SC First Bank plans to further link this service with a variety of foreign currency products, such as offshore funds and foreign currency deposits, to provide an integrated foreign currency asset management service. Through this, the bank aims to develop a comprehensive foreign currency asset management platform that enables customers to respond immediately to exchange rate fluctuations and manage their foreign currency assets more efficiently.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the service launch, the bank is holding an event until February 28 for customers who conduct transactions of 365 dollars or more during nighttime or on public holidays through the mobile banking app.
