Netflix recorded its highest-ever monthly active users (MAU) last month.
According to real-time app and payment data analytics solution WiseApp·Retail on January 13, Netflix's monthly active users reached 15.16 million last month, making it the most-used online video service (OTT) app among Koreans. This broke the previous record of 14.57 million set in August last year, just four months ago.
Coupang Play ranked second with 8.53 million users, followed by Tving (5.25 million), Disney Plus (2.39 million), and Wavve (2.35 million).
Netflix also ranked first in OTT app revisit rates. The proportion of users who visited in November and returned in December reached 85%. The global success of the previously released "Chef in Black and White 2" is seen as a key factor.
Tving (72%), Coupang Play (64%), Disney Plus (63%), and Wavve (62%) followed in terms of high revisit rates.
