KT M Mobile: "Buy eSIM Online... Use 'Mobi' for Overseas Data Roaming"
'Pre-Departure Activation Check' Available in Korea
365-Day Customer Support... Real-Time Top-Ups Possible
On December 29, KT M Mobile, a budget mobile carrier, announced that it is expanding its business globally with the launch of 'Mobi,' an eSIM data roaming service.
Mobi is a service that allows users to conveniently use data by purchasing an eSIM without the need to replace a physical SIM card. Customers can purchase their desired product through the Mobi application or Naver Smart Store and register the eSIM. Data can be used immediately upon arrival in about 70 countries, including major Southeast Asian countries such as Japan, China, and Vietnam, as well as the United States and Europe.
As long as the device supports eSIM, the service can be used regardless of the carrier. Users can keep their existing SIM card to continue making calls and sending texts with their domestic number, while setting data usage to the eSIM.
The most distinctive feature of Mobi is the 'pre-departure activation check.' Customers who purchase an eSIM data roaming plan through the app can verify in advance, while still in Korea, that the eSIM is functioning properly. This pre-departure activation check is available for countries except for Hong Kong, Macau, and Europe, but these regions will also be supported sequentially starting next year.
Additionally, a customer center operates 365 days a year to provide prompt and reliable support even while abroad. If users run out of data while overseas, real-time top-ups are also available.
