Seogu, Gwangju Named 'Best Institution' in Emergency Preparedness Evaluation
Recognized for Wartime Establishment Operations and Counter-Terrorism Efforts
Seogu in Gwangju was selected as the Best Institution in the '2025 Emergency Preparedness Work Evaluation'.
According to Seogu on December 22, this evaluation, organized by Gwangju Metropolitan City, was conducted with the aim of sharing best practices in emergency preparedness work and improving areas of weakness among the five autonomous districts. The final decision was made based on a comprehensive review of 17 items across three areas: joint government evaluation, emergency standby work, and Ulchi exercise.

View original imageSeogu was recognized for its outstanding performance across the entire emergency preparedness system, which focuses on practical response. This includes the establishment of the Chungmu Plan, operation of the Integrated Defense Council, management of key resources and mobilization training for technical personnel, support for reserve forces development, operation of the wartime integrated command center, operation of wartime establishment organizations, and counter-terrorism work.
In particular, during the Ulchi exercise in August, Seogu successfully conducted the 'Mobilization Goods Production and Transportation Training' at the Kia Autoland Gwangju Hanam Plant, with participation from seven organizations and more than 100 people.
