Suwon Museum Seeks Photos Capturing Suwon in the 1980s
Suwon Museum in Gyeonggi Province is publicly collecting photographs that capture the city of Suwon in the 1980s.
On December 22, Suwon Museum announced plans to gather photos of Suwon and its people from the 1980s, taken from the perspective of local citizens, and to hold an exhibition created together with the community.
The collection targets photographs taken by citizens in the 1980s, featuring daily life, streets, events, and people. There are no restrictions on format-printed photos, albums, and digital files are all accepted.

View original imageApplicants can download the application form from the Suwon Museum website notice board and submit it either online (via Naver Form) or in person.
A Suwon Museum official stated, "Photos from the 1980s vividly capture citizens living through a period of rapid change and moments that symbolize a turbulent era. It was a golden age of sports with the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Olympics, and the people achieved democratization by resisting dictatorship."

The official added, "It was also a cultural heyday, with new leisure activities emerging thanks to the advancement of TV and the film industry. Through this photo collection, we hope to revisit memories of that era and experience the atmosphere of the 1980s once again."
