The county is currently developing the largest solar power complex in the country, accelerating efforts to strengthen the domestic solar industry ecosystem based on this foundation.
On December 8, the county, represented by Acting County Governor Kim Daein, signed an "Agreement on the Use of Localized Solar Industry Equipment" with 12 power generation companies and member companies of the Shinan Solar Industry Association.
This agreement was established to actively support the national energy policy direction by procuring key solar power equipment-such as inverters-primarily from domestic products, and to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic solar manufacturing industry.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲ prioritizing the use of domestically produced equipment in new and existing solar power projects ▲ establishing systems for technology exchange and maintenance ▲ linking with government and local government localization policies ▲ jointly responding to policies that favor domestic equipment ▲ and making policy proposals to promote the use of domestic equipment.
In particular, as the county possesses the largest large-scale solar power zone in the country, this localization agreement is expected to have a significant impact on strengthening national energy self-sufficiency and the competitiveness of the renewable energy industry.
Acting Governor Kim stated, "Shinan County plays an important role as a center of renewable energy in South Korea," adding, "We hope this agreement will serve as a new leap forward for the domestic solar industry. We will continue to do our best to expand the use of domestic equipment and foster the industrial ecosystem."
