Taihan Cable Earns 'Excellent Family-Friendly Company' Certification for Third Consecutive Term
Recognition for Expanding Family-Friendly Management
35 Million Won for Having Up to Three Children
"We Will Lay the Foundation for Sustainable Growth"
Taihan Cable announced on December 10 that it has been re-certified in the 'Family-Friendly Certification' program, overseen by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. With this re-certification, the company has maintained its status as an 'Excellent Family-Friendly Company' for three consecutive terms.
The Family-Friendly Certification system is a government program that recognizes exemplary companies for their operation of family-friendly policies, such as support for childbirth and childcare, and the creation of a work-life balance culture. To receive re-certification, companies must not only maintain existing policies, but also achieve high marks across quantitative and qualitative indicators, including operational performance, outcomes, and efforts to expand these policies.
Since first earning certification in 2017, Taihan Cable has continuously strengthened its family-friendly management. With this year’s re-certification, the company’s consistent operation of such policies and its achievements have been recognized, allowing it to maintain certification for 11 years through 2028.
Taihan Cable operates a variety of welfare programs tailored to the family life cycle, including marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, under the belief that the happiness of employees is the foundation for the company’s sustainable growth. Last year, in line with the expansion of the parent company Hoban Group’s ‘Hoban Life for Happy Children’ initiative, the company enhanced existing programs and introduced new ones, significantly broadening the scope and scale of support.
Upon marriage, employees receive a congratulatory payment of 1 million won, and couples facing infertility are provided with up to 3.9 million won to cover treatment costs. Pregnant employees are offered prenatal travel packages at domestic resorts to foster emotional bonding with their unborn child.
The childbirth congratulatory payment has been raised to the highest level in the cable industry, with 5 million won for the first child, 10 million won for the second, and 20 million won for the third child and beyond. Employees who have their first through third child while employed can receive a total of 35 million won in congratulatory payments. In addition, the company has enhanced work-life balance support policies such as up to two years of parental leave, flexible work arrangements, and expanded health checkups, thereby increasing employee satisfaction.
