Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 10 that it has completed a project to replace 100% of its outdated lighting facilities within the city with high-efficiency LED fixtures, as part of its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and create a safer nighttime road environment.

View original imagePreviously, the city had replaced approximately 9,000 old security lights with LED lighting by last year. This year, all streetlights managed by the Road Facilities Division were also replaced with LED fixtures, significantly improving road illumination and enhancing nighttime safety throughout the city.
The city plans to continuously inspect and improve the nighttime road environment across the city, including low-light areas, and will implement improvement projects in phases to enhance both safety and visibility by addressing dark road conditions.
