Uijeongbu Urban Corporation announced on December 10 that it had newly introduced an AI-based drowning detection system at the Minrak National Sports Center swimming pool on December 9. This system is an intelligent safety technology that analyzes footage from inside the pool in real time to quickly detect dangerous situations, aiming to protect citizens' lives and enhance water safety standards.

This is expected to greatly assist in securing the critical early response time needed for rescues.
The Minrak National Sports Center is a facility frequently used by vulnerable groups such as children, beginners, and people with disabilities, who are at higher risk of water-related accidents. Through the introduction of the AI-based drowning detection system, the center has supplemented the limitations of traditional visual monitoring and established a more comprehensive safety management system.
Starting with the Minrak National Sports Center, Uijeongbu Urban Corporation plans to gradually expand the application of AI-based safety management systems to other major sports facilities it operates, such as the Uijeongbu City Sports Center.
