This event was organized as a follow-up to the Korea-Uzbekistan summit held on the occasion of the 80th United Nations (UN) General Assembly in September. In particular, Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan for Investments, Industry, and Trade, attended the event to listen to the difficulties and suggestions of Korean companies. The event was also attended by Alisher AbduSalomov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Korea, vice ministers from seven ministries including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Digital Technologies, as well as a government delegation from Uzbekistan.

On the Korean side, Yoon Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Lee Hyungil, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and representatives from 25 Korean companies operating in Uzbekistan-including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, and POSCO International-participated to discuss challenges and cooperation measures in various sectors such as energy, construction, information technology (IT), and manufacturing.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Yoon Jin-sik stated, "As we agreed to move forward with a 'special strategic partnership' with Uzbekistan at the recent summit, I believe there will be many opportunities for fruitful cooperation across various fields in the future. The Korea International Trade Association will also actively communicate with the local government and related organizations to help resolve the challenges faced by Korean companies and to promote policy and institutional cooperation between the two countries."

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Prime Minister Khodjaev responded, "Uzbekistan has implemented broad reforms to improve the business environment, resulting in the doubling of our GDP over the past eight years. Thanks to increased investment from Korean companies, the number of Korea-Uzbekistan joint ventures has grown to 683. We hope to expand bilateral cooperation in diverse areas such as supply chains, renewable energy, infrastructure and transportation, and IT. In particular, we look forward to the active participation of Korean companies in major projects such as high-speed railways and airport construction."
