The province stated that in a recent satisfaction survey conducted among approximately 80 participants-including provincial government officials and representatives from related organizations and groups-over 90% of respondents said that the Economic Study helped improve their understanding of the province’s economic policies and enhanced their practical capabilities.
Representatives from economic organizations and companies responded that the lectures helped them understand recent economic trends and industrial developments, providing practical support for establishing management strategies and responding to market changes.
Additionally, public officials evaluated that the program was practically helpful in strengthening their economic analysis and insight during policy planning and administrative work processes.
However, participants suggested areas for improvement, including: ▲ hybrid (online and offline) operation ▲ rotating lectures outside the provincial government headquarters ▲ expanding topics to cover practical economic issues such as finance, real estate, and investment ▲ introducing field trips and benchmarking-based learning. Some also suggested that institutional improvements are needed so that the program can be officially recognized as formal training by educational institutions.
Moving forward, the province plans to reflect these suggestions and fully upgrade the program next year by launching Gangwon Economic Study 2.0.
The core directions include: ▲ strengthening practical content that combines Gangwon’s advanced industrial policies with everyday economic topics ▲ operating a joint learning model for public officials and residents ▲ establishing a pool of expert instructors.
In addition, a new “learning outcome feedback system” will be introduced to evaluate satisfaction and learning results on a quarterly basis and incorporate the findings into program operations.

Governor Kim Jintae stated, “The Gangwon Economic Study, which began as an initiative to instill an economic policy mindset not only among the province’s leadership but also across all departments, has now become a learning platform shared with local residents. Next year, we will expand lectures closely related to everyday economic life and do our utmost to ensure that not only the Economic Study but also the Gangwon economy itself can grow together.”
