Muju Firefly Shine Muscat Begins Exports to Taiwan
A Total of 50 Tons Shipped
Raising Expectations for Expanded Export Channels
'Muju Firefly Shine Muscat' has been exported to Taiwan for the first time.
According to the county on December 9, this export to Taiwan is drawing attention as the result of product procurement, quality management, and distribution strategies jointly promoted by Muju County and the Muju County Nonghyup Cooperative Corporation, based on North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province's 'Project to Foster Strategic Export Items for Agricultural Products.'
The 'Fresh Agricultural Products Export Self-Reliance Enhancement Project'-which supports the organization and scaling up of export agricultural products, overseas marketing, export product quality management consulting, and logistics equipment-along with the 'Pre-Export Support Project for Agri-Food Companies,' also played a significant role.
The 'Pre-Export Support Project for Agri-Food Companies' has served as a pillar for enhancing export competitiveness by supporting sporadic costs incurred during the export process of agri-food products, such as agricultural materials required for quarantine compliance and pesticide residue inspection fees for importing countries.
The total export volume to Taiwan, achieved through the exporter 'Evergood,' is 50 tons. The high preference and marketability of Korean Shine Muscat grapes in Taiwan are raising expectations for further expansion of export channels in the future.
At the shipment ceremony held at the Muju Agricultural Products Distribution Center on the same day, more than 20 people attended, including Hwang Inhong, Muju County Governor; Oh Gwangseok, Chairperson; Ahn Chanwoo, Deputy Head of Jeonbuk Nonghyup; officials from Nonghyup; Kim Najung, CEO of Evergood; and Jeong Dogeon, Head of the Agri-Food Industry Division at North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province.
The attendees observed the selection, packaging, and shipping process of Muju Firefly Shine Muscat at the Muju Agricultural Products Distribution Center.
Governor Hwang Inhong stated, "Taiwanese consumers prefer practicality in terms of the size and uniformity of Shine Muscat grapes, and export prospects are much brighter compared to Vietnam or Hong Kong. Moving forward, we will focus on consulting for farmers to establish a stable foundation for production, quality, and distribution."
He added, "We will further accelerate related projects to help stabilize the income of Firefly Shine Muscat growers."
