President Lee Jaemyung's approval rating for his handling of state affairs rose slightly to 54.9% compared to the previous week.
According to a survey conducted by Realmeter at the request of Energy Economy News from December 1 to 5, 2025, targeting 2,520 people aged 18 and older nationwide, 54.9% of respondents gave a positive evaluation of President Lee's performance.
The president's approval rating maintained a steady trend compared to the previous survey, showing a slight increase.
The percentage of respondents who gave a negative evaluation was 42.1%, up by 1.4 percentage points.
In a separate party approval rating survey conducted on December 4 and 5 among 1,008 people aged 18 and older nationwide, the Democratic Party of Korea received 44.2%, while the People Power Party received 37.0%.
The Democratic Party's support dropped by 1.4 percentage points from the previous week, and the People Power Party's support fell by 0.4 percentage points. The Cho Kuk Innovation Party recorded a 2.6% approval rating, the Reform New Party 3.8%, and the Progressive Party 1.4%.
Both surveys were conducted using a wireless automated response system. The margin of error for the presidential approval survey was ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the margin of error for the party approval survey was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
