Shinsegae Main Branch Reborn as Korea’s Premier Luxury Mansion
Luxury Brands Including Louis Vuitton and Cartier Complete Store Renovations
The main branch of Shinsegae Department Store has been reborn as Korea’s premier “luxury mansion,” with the renewal of stores and the addition of new locations for global high-end luxury brands.
According to Shinsegae Department Store on December 3, the main branch’s renovation project has been completed with the renewal of stores for global high-end luxury boutiques such as Herm?s, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel, as well as luxury jewelry and watch brands including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany, and Rolex.
The newly renovated stores are designed to maximize each brand’s identity and brand experience. The newly unveiled “Louis Vuitton The Place Seoul Shinsegae The Reserve” is arranged to allow visitors to experience the brand’s offerings in fashion, art, and gastronomy in a variety of ways. The restaurant is scheduled to open in January next year.
Bringing together Louis Vuitton’s fashion, watches & jewelry, beauty, restaurant, cafe, chocolate shop, gift & home collection, and cultural experience space, “Louis Vuitton The Place Seoul Shinsegae The Reserve” is expected to become a symbolic space where the brand’s present and heritage harmoniously coexist, offering a new dimension of experience.
The largest Herm?s store among department stores in Korea now allows visitors to appreciate the timeless beauty unique to Herm?s, and Cartier has newly opened a boutique that showcases all categories, including high jewelry, watches, leather goods, and accessories. Early next year, Bulgari will newly open, and the Dior store will reopen after renovation, further elevating the main branch’s lineup to the highest level of luxury brands in Korea.
In addition to luxury brands, “The Estate” (formerly the New Building) features a diverse array of men’s and women’s contemporary, casual, sports, kids, lifestyle brands, and Shinsegae Duty Free. The Chanel store in “The Heritage,” which incorporates historical architectural elements along with the brand’s sophistication and craftsmanship, further supports the plan to develop the main branch into a central shopping destination enjoyed by VIPs, the general public, and international visitors alike.
Content promoting Korean culture will also be introduced, including “House of Shinsegae The Heritage,” which hosts exhibitions and workshops showcasing Korea’s unique culture and lifestyle; “House of Shinsegae Dessert Salon,” where the Shinsegae Korean Food Research Institute presents menus developed through research on Korean desserts; and “The Heritage Museum,” a history hall that preserves the legacy of Korea’s distribution and commercial history.
This year, Shinsegae’s main branch also renovated three VIP lounges and the Personal Shopper Room (PSR), and established The Heritage Valet Lounge, significantly improving amenities for VIP customers.
