With the official launch of the Industry-Academia-Research Council, which aims to lead local industries such as culture and tourism, digital technology, and biohealth through collaboration with local companies, this event marked an important starting point for establishing the industry-academia-research ecosystem of the Busan-style RISE project.
During the ceremony, Dongsuh University introduced its region-based industry-academia cooperation strategies being promoted through the RISE project, followed by presentations sharing the future operational direction and implementation roadmap of the Industry-Academia-Research Council.
In particular, it was revealed that the council will focus on nurturing resident talent for the BIG3 industries and driving R&BD (Research and Business Development) innovation in the BIG3 industries based on AX (Advanced Experience), drawing significant attention from attendees.
The event also featured a ceremony for awarding appointment certificates to the representative companies of the council. The participating companies are composed of Dongsuh University's BIG3 industries: culture and tourism, digital technology, and biohealth. These appointed companies will work together with the Dongsuh University RISE Project Group to foster specialized talent based on local needs and participate in open industry-academia cooperation centered on corporate demand.
Additionally, plans were announced to systematically establish a cooperation system among industry, academia, research, and government, and to expand the council, in order to build an innovative growth ecosystem for the local industry. Through these efforts, the university aims to gradually expand the nurturing of resident talent, the development of AX innovative technologies, and the creation of startups in the BIG3 industries.
The RISE (Regional Innovation for Startup & Education) project is a new regional innovation model promoted by the Ministry of Education, designed to support universities in playing a central role in solving regional issues and driving industrial innovation. Dongsuh University plays a key role in the Busan RISE system, and the Industry-Academia-Research Council is being established as a practical execution hub.
