Police Find Lee Junseok Not Guilty of Sexually Inappropriate Remarks... Case Not Referred to Prosecution
National Investigation Chief Withheld the Facts Until the Previous Day
It was belatedly revealed that the police determined Lee Junseok, Representative of the Reform New Party, was not guilty regarding his allegedly sexually inappropriate remarks during a presidential election TV debate.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 24th, the police decided not to refer Representative Lee to the prosecution on November 18 regarding allegations of slander against a candidate and dissemination of false information under the Public Official Election Act.
In the official notice of the non-referral investigation results, the police stated, "It is difficult to dismiss Representative Lee's claims, and there is insufficient evidence to conclude that he was aware his remarks were false at the time, so he is not guilty due to lack of evidence."
