Samcheok City in Gangwon Province is recruiting participants for the ‘2026 Winter College Student Part-Time Program’ to provide local university students with opportunities to gain work experience and earn tuition during the winter break.
A total of 185 students will be selected, divided into 59 through general selection, 15 through special selection (including 9 from socially disadvantaged groups and 6 recommended by the president of Kangwon National University), and 111 through regional selection.
Eligible applicants are university students (including those on leave of absence) who, as of the recruitment announcement date, have their own or their parent’s (including legal guardian or custodian) resident registration address in Samcheok City.

Selected students will work in three groups, each for two weeks, between January 5 and February 15, 2026. Work locations include 34 sites such as City Hall, administrative welfare centers in towns and townships, libraries, major tourist attractions like Hwanseongul Cave, Marine Rail Bike, and Marine Cable Car, as well as welfare facilities. The hourly wage will be 10,400 won, which is higher than the 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 won. Based on an 8-hour workday, the daily wage will be 83,200 won, and a weekly paid leave allowance will be included for full attendance.
The final participants will be determined through a public computerized lottery at 10 a.m. on December 11, and the results will be announced on the City Hall website at 6 p.m. on the same day.
