According to the legal community on November 21, the special prosecutor's team conducted a search and seizure the previous day at the Roger Vivier headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, as well as at a department store in Seoul where the brand's store is located, securing a list of buyers and sales receipts.
The team is currently verifying the specific circumstances under which Mrs. Kim received a Roger Vivier clutch bag, valued at between 1.7 million and 1.8 million won, as a gift from Assemblyman Kim's spouse in March 2022.
During a search of the former President Yoon Sukyeol's residence on November 6, the special prosecutor's team found the clutch bag in question and a thank-you letter written by Assemblyman Kim's wife. The team suspects that Mrs. Kim may have received the bag as compensation for mobilizing Unification Church members to intervene in the People Power Party leadership election on March 8, 2022.
Previously, the special prosecutor's team additionally indicted Mrs. Kim for violating the Political Parties Act, including in the indictment the allegation that she colluded with Jeon Seongbae, known as Geonjin Bopsa, to orchestrate the collective membership of Unification Church members ahead of the party convention to support Assemblyman Kim's bid for party leader.
On November 8, Assemblyman Kim issued a statement explaining, "As the spouse of the new ruling party leader, I gave the gift to the First Lady as a matter of social courtesy."

He further emphasized, "Neither I nor my wife, who had already been elected as the party leader, had any requests to make to the former President and his wife, nor was there any reason to do so. It was merely a formal gesture between private individuals, with no greater or lesser meaning."
