Mayor Kang Suhyeon and Chairman Yoon Changcheol to Visit Key Thai Economic Institutions
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province is launching a full-scale initiative to help local food companies strengthen their global competitiveness by pioneering overseas markets.
From November 26 to 28, Yangju City will operate a joint Yangju pavilion with seven local food companies at "SEOUL FOOD in Bangkok 2025," held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. The city aims to showcase the excellence of K-Food and achieve tangible export results.
In particular, this overseas market delegation will include Kang Suhyeon, Mayor of Yangju, and Yoon Changcheol, Chairman of the Yangju City Council, who will personally visit major Thai economic institutions and companies. Through these diplomatic and economic activities, they aim to further solidify the foundation for Southeast Asian exports by Yangju-based companies.
During their visit, Mayor Kang Suhyeon and the delegation plan to meet directly with the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the country’s top economic organization, and INTEQC Group, a leading company in Thailand’s food industry. They will engage in in-depth discussions on the topics of "Expanding Yangju Companies’ Entry into the Southeast Asian Market" and "Building a Sustainable Economic Cooperation Network."
This meeting is seen as a strategic foothold for Yangju companies to secure market access in Southeast Asia. Based on cooperation with local economic organizations, tangible outcomes are expected, including future joint projects, entry into distribution networks, and the operation of local test markets.
During the exhibition, Yangju City will operate the "Yangju Joint Pavilion" to actively support local food companies in promoting their products and consulting with local and overseas buyers.
Notably, even before the exhibition, 123 overseas buyers have already requested pre-event consultations, reflecting strong interest in Yangju food companies in the Southeast Asian market, including Thailand. As a result, there is a very high possibility of achieving visible results such as export consultations and on-site contracts at this exhibition.
Kang Suhyeon, Mayor of Yangju, stated, "This visit to Thailand is intended to help local companies create real business opportunities in overseas markets. We will do our utmost to ensure that cooperation with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and key food industry companies becomes a turning point for enhancing the global competitiveness of Yangju companies."
