Breaking: Jeju-to-Mokpo Ferry with 267 Aboard Runs Aground Near Jangsan Island, Sinan
At 8:17 p.m. on November 19, a report was received by the Coast Guard that a passenger ferry had run aground in the waters near Jangsan Island, Jangsan-myeon, Sinan County, South Jeolla Province.
The ferry was reportedly carrying a total of 267 people, including 246 passengers and 21 crew members, and was traveling from Jeju to Mokpo.
It is believed that the ferry ran aground on a reef while approaching the vicinity of Jangsan Island.
