The Army 1st Corps announced that on the 19th, it held the inauguration ceremony for its 58th Corps Commander, attended by over 400 people, including Corps personnel and distinguished guests, under the supervision of General Joo Sungwoon, Commander of the Ground Operations Command.

This is the first time that a Reserve Officers' Training Corps graduate has been appointed as Commander of the 1st Corps, which plays a key role in defending the Seoul metropolitan area.
At the inauguration ceremony held in the afternoon at the 1st Corps Headquarters in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, Lieutenant General Han Kisung officially began his duties as Corps Commander by receiving the unit flag from his predecessor, General Joo Sungwoon, Commander of the Ground Operations Command.
In his inaugural address, the new Corps Commander, Han Kisung, stated, "I will focus all my capabilities on ensuring thorough combat readiness, which is the essence of the military, to create a powerful corps with overwhelming combat power that our adversaries will fear."
