Korea and UAE Strengthen Cooperation in Advanced Industries with Seven MOUs Signed

View original imageOn November 18 (local time), South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) in Abu Dhabi to strengthen cooperation in advanced industries.
President Lee Jaemyung and President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a Korea-UAE MOU exchange ceremony at the UAE Presidential Palace, Qasr Al Watan, on the same day.
The two countries signed a "Partnership on New Nuclear Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Global Market Cooperation." The document was signed by the President of Korea Electric Power Corporation and the President of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC). In addition, documents such as the "MOU on Cooperation in the Field of AI" and the "Strategic AI Cooperation Framework" were also adopted.
Other MOUs in advanced industries were also signed, including the "MOU on Comprehensive Cooperation in the Biohealth Sector" and the "MOU on Deepened Cooperation in the Field of Intellectual Property."
The two countries also concluded an "MOU on Cooperation for Space Exploration and Utilization for Peaceful Purposes." President Lee has recently expressed his commitment to joint satellite development and the establishment of satellite navigation infrastructure with the UAE.

Meanwhile, an "Administrative and Operational MOU of the CEPA Economic Cooperation Committee" related to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed by the two countries last year was also adopted.
