The Robotic Surgery Center Symposium, held on November 15 at Kim Dongguk Hall on the 5th floor of the Uiseong Building, was organized to commemorate reaching 700 robotic surgeries, four years after performing the first surgery with the latest 4th-generation Da Vinci Xi robot. The event provided an opportunity to share the latest insights and surgical know-how, as well as to engage in discussions.
The event began with an opening address and status report by Yuseok Kim, Director of the Robotic Surgery Center, followed by a congratulatory speech from Jin Ho Kim, President of the hospital. The first session included lectures on: ▲Robotic techniques for gastric surgery (Professor Ryu Seongyeop, Department of Surgery) ▲Robotic colorectal cancer surgery (Professor Kim Kyungjong, Department of Surgery) ▲Advancements and prospects in robotic head and neck surgery (Professor Oh Junghyun, Department of Otolaryngology) ▲Anesthesia management during robotic surgery (Professor Jeong Gitae, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine). The second session covered: ▲Transoral robotic thyroidectomy (Professor Kim Yuseok, Department of Surgery) ▲Transoral robotic thyroidectomy & robotic nephrectomy (Professor Kim Minseok, Department of Urology) ▲Robotic pancreatectomy (Professor Shin Dagyeom, Department of Surgery), among other diverse topics.
Yuseok Kim, Director of the Robotic Surgery Center, stated, "It is very meaningful to hold this symposium to celebrate surpassing 700 robotic surgeries," adding, "Through lectures and discussions by professors from the Departments of Surgery, Urology, and Otolaryngology, we will share our experiences in robotic surgery and do our best to promote the systematic development and activation of the center."
