Dongmyung University to Operate "One-Day Playground with Education for Companion Animals"
Experiential RISE-Linked Program for Pet Owners and Their Companion Animals
The College of Companion Animals at Dongmyung University (President: Lee Sangcheon) will operate an experiential program called "One-Day Playground with Education for Companion Animals," where pet owners and their companion animals can participate together. The program will be held three times at the on-campus dog playground "Dongsup" from November 22 to December 11, 2025.
This program will be conducted under the guidance of Dongmyung University’s specialized faculty, including Dean Kim Dokyung of the College of Companion Animals, Professor Kim Sujin (Head Professor of Open UIC), Professor Lee Shinho (Chair of the Department of Companion Animal Health), Professor Kwak Jinsuk (Chair of the Department of Pet Grooming and Behavior Correction), and Professor Lim Eunseo (Dean of the Department of Companion Animal Industry). It is structured as an educational and experiential RISE-linked program, allowing pet owners and their companion animals to learn and bond together.
The main themes for each session are as follows: ▲ November 22 - "Agility Free Play and Mini Sports Day for Dogs"; ▲ November 29 - "Q&A on Companion Animal Care Issues and Experience Making Healthy Treats"; ▲ December 11 - "Early Christmas! Practical Skills Competition and Companion Life Etiquette Education." Each session offers a unique theme, providing participants with a rich and varied experience.
Some participants will receive small prizes through a lottery, and applications can be submitted via Google Forms. Detailed information about the program is available on the website of the Dongmyung University Companion Animal Education and Culture Center or from the academic support team of the College of Companion Animals.
This program is part of the Busan Regional Innovation-Led University Support System (RISE) initiative and aligns with the project’s goal of "opening university infrastructure and fostering win-win cooperation with the local community."
Dongmyung University has opened the "Dongsup" dog playground to local residents, operating it as a space for sharing companion animal culture and contributing to the spread of responsible pet ownership and the establishment of a community-based education infrastructure for companion animals.
