The Jeonnam Residents Association stated, "The artificial sun research facility is a core foundation for the future energy industry of Korea. Jeonnam's abundant energy resources, research infrastructure, and the passionate spirit of its residents make it the optimal location," adding, "Bringing the facility to Jeonnam will not only contribute to national energy self-sufficiency but also greatly promote balanced regional development."
They went on to say, "Out of love for our hometown, we wish to contribute to attracting this significant national project for Jeonnam's future," and emphasized, "All our members are united in their support, and we look forward to a wise decision from the government."

Last October, they donated 5 million won to the Hometown Love Fund for Chuseok and have consistently engaged in community service and activities for the development of their hometown.
